What happened?

What did I do?

    When we got acquired by Ascendum, we began serious work with large companies, who found our passion for and knowledge about technology invaluable. Ascendum helped us figure out how to talk about innovation and design in a way that makes sense in business context.

    In November ’17, we conducted an Innovation Workshop on ourselves: we talked about company DNA, our mission and offering. We reframed the idea of Sourcebits, and a funny thing occurred to us: we’ve been doing this stuff for years, we just haven’t been able to define it properly.

    • Led a group of executives and managers
    • Conducted market and internal research
    • Created new brand strategy, messaging, internal identity
    • Created new offering lines
    • Proposed a new delivery process
    • Built new marketing and sales collateral
     

    My ideas

    Culture

    • Our DNA is curiosity, confidence, aggression, flexibility.
    • We are practitioners who became experts, who became trendsetters.
    • We are not afraid to fail. Every failure is a learning experience.
    • Example needs to come from the top: C level needs to live by these principles.

    Innovation

    • Innovation is the ability to have an open mind and creatively find valuable connections between otherwise unrelated bits of information.
    • To be innovative is to think hard, question, explore and change perspectives.
    • Innovation is not one of our offerings.
    • Being innovative is the foundation of our approach to our work.

    Brand

    • We are not an app development company anymore.
    • Our DNA is curiosity, confidence, aggression, flexibility.
    • We are practitioners who became experts, who became trendsetters.
    • We have 11 years of experience building software which enriches lives and businesses.
    • Separate ourselves from immediate competition.
    • Eliminate dry, technical, me-too, fluff language.
    • Let’s focus on human, life, change, enrichment.
    • Sourcebits is exclusive, transcending, aspirational, expensive.
    • Sourcebits is insane about new technologies.

    Messaging

    • Inspire new branding by companies like IDEO, Apple, Maybach, Patek, Luis Vuitton, Lamborghini.
    • We are working on a new logo.
    • Single long page.
    • Conversational UI / chat bot service instead of a contact form.
    • Cannot look and feel like a technology company website. Consider IDEO and R/GA for inspiration.
